Well how shall we start tonight's blog. Steven and I got up early this morning and made our way to Yellowstone. Prior to leaving the house we packed all things needed for a few nites stay in Yellowstone. We departed the house at 0730. Why do I feel the need to tell this.....THIS is the perfect time for SNOW on Beartooth Highway (some elevations of Beartooth are 10k feet above sea level). The road winds and turns up the mountain and down the other side. The snow started as we got half way up the mountain and by that time we could not turn back. We kept trying to pull off, but was afraid that we would get caught on the mountain if the storm did not stop. Please see picture attached to this blog to note what Steven and I encountered as we got to the top of Beartooth. West Point is the highest peak. There were near white out conditions as we got to the top and the road was covered......Aunt B and Steven's mom warned us about possiblity of snow. WE GOT IT. After spending an hour trying to get up the mountain and to the other side where the snow was not as bad....the trip got a LOT better. We entered Yellowstone and spent the day at Mammoth Springs and Norris Geyser Basin. Please see picture of the day for one of the photo's of some trees on the Main Terrace at Mammoth. We finished out the day having dinner and ice cream at the cafe in Mammoth Springs. Wildlife - Bison and elk. I am in the search for BEARS. Yes, Yes, and Yes Momma Bonnie and Aunt B we have pepper spray. Steven has advise me that any bear watching will be in the confines of a car....I am trying to find a way around this....but he has put his foot down....
